The Student Development and Guidance Center, (S.D.G.C.), is a disciplinary alternative education program which provides for the education and behavioral needs of students who have violated the school district’s Code of Student Conduct. S.D.G.C. provides behavioral modification and maintenance of academic skills in a highly structured learning environment. Guidance and counseling services are provided to all S.D.G.C. students and parents.

S.D.G.C. provides for the students' educational needs by focusing on English, mathematics, science, history, physical education and a self-discipline course. The self-discipline curriculum, Teen Leadership, includes instruction in character education, self-responsibility, conflict management and work place proficiencies.

Students adhere to a strict dress code, which includes a white collared shirt and tie, regular 5-pocket jeans, black or khaki slacks. No jewelry or make-up is allowed; each student undergoes a morning search and students are under constant supervision. A constable is on duty the entire instructional day at S.D.G.C.
