Dr. Wally Graham, President

Dr. Graham has served on the Board since 1995. He is a graduate of King High School in Corpus Christi. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University. He and his wife Shirley have two daughters and one son all of which graduated from Flour Bluff High School. Dr. Graham has served the district in a number of roles including the district improvement council and campus decision-making teams. Dr. Graham was elected President of the Board in May, 2011.

Flo East, Vice-President

Flo East was elected to the Board in May 2003. Mrs. East serves in numerous community service organizations. She currently has two grandchildren in the Flour Bluff ISD. She has two daughters, one which is a graduate of FBHS. Mrs. East states, "working for a better tomorrow is a mission of great importance." Mrs. East was elected as Vice-President of the Board in May, 2011.

Dan Suckley, Secretary

Mr. Suckley was appointed to the board in June 2007 to serve the remaining term vacated by former board member Dan Thornton. He is the Branch Executive Officer of American Bank on Padre Island. Mr. Suckley is a 1985 graduate of FBHS and has a BBA degree majoring in Accounting from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He and his wife Rosanne have one son and one daughter who are students at FBISD. Mr. Suckley is very active in the community and serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas. He has been an active member of the FBISD Education Improvement Council for the past several years. Mr. Suckley was elected as Secretary of the Board in May, 2011.

Wade Chapman, Member

Mr. Chapman was appointed to the board in May, 2010 to serve the remaining term vacated by former board member George Canales. He has a B.S. Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station and a Juris Doctorate from the South Texas College of Law. He is a Division Operations Manager for EOG Resources, Inc. Mr. Chapman was admitted to the State Bar of Texas. His wife Marty teaches tenth grade English at Flour Bluff High School. They have one child who graduated from Flour Bluff schools and three children currently attending Flour Bluff schools. He stays active in the community coaching his children's athletic teams.
Dan Thornton

Steve Ellis, Member

Mr. Ellis was appointed to the board in June 2007 to serve the remaining term vacated by former board member Jimmy Kaylor. He has a BS degree from Texas A&M University, College Station and a Juris Doctorate from The University of Texas School of Law. He is an oil and gas lawyer for EOG Resources, Inc. Mr. Ellis was admitted to the State Bar of Texas and State Bar of California. He and his wife Sharon have four children; two of which have graduated from Flour Bluff High School and two who are currently enrolled in FBISD. He is an active community member and has served as a board member for the Flour Bluff ISD Foundation for Educational Excellence, Inc. He is currently an active member of the Corpus Christi Association Petroleum Landmen and involved with the Journey to Damascus ministry.

Dr. Jim Needham, Member

Dr. Jim Needham was elected to serve on the Board in May 20, 2011.  He is Dean of Community Outreach at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where he has worked since 1994.  He has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Construction and a Ph.D. in Architecture from Texas A&M University.  He has two sons and a daughter who graduated from Flour Bluff.  Dr. Needham is a Nueces County Coastal Parks Commissioner, serves as Regional Chair for the State Employee Charitable Campaign, and is active on several area committees and councils. He and his wife, Dr. Alicia Needham, reside on Padre Island.

Shirley Thornton, Member

Dan Suckley

Shirley Thornton was elected to serve on the Board in May 2011. She is a retired teacher who taught junior high English for twenty-eight years and served as a new-teacher mentor for two years in Flour Bluff ISD.  She has called Flour Bluff her home since 1968 and has been happily married for thirty-five years to Robert Thornton, a retired masonry contractor and current real estate investor.  They and their three children are all proud graduates of Flour Bluff High School, and two of their five grandchildren are just starting their lives as Flour Bluff Hornets.  She is an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and serves as a church, school, and community volunteer.
