Fire Prevention Week

Elementary students at Flour Bluff schools were treated to guest speakers and demonstrations this week in conjunction with National Fire Safety Week. The Corpus Christi Naval Air Station Fire Department hosted a "fire house" demonstration for Flour Bluff Elementary students on October 10 & 11. A makeshift room filled with fog was used to represent smoke to help show students how to find their way out of a smoke-filled room.

Students at the Early Childhood Center were able to see a fire truck up close when volunteers from the Flour Bluff Volunteer Fire Department came to visit this week. The volunteer fire fighters demonstrated certain functions on the truck and gave out safety information to take home to parents.

The "future" Hornet cheerleaders will perform at half time this Friday, October 12, as the Hornets take on Kingsville at Hornet Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
