The Flour Bluff High School KEDT-TV Challenge team won its first match against HM King on November 6. Seated (l-r): Ariel Moore, Anthony Pabillano, Claire Ellis and Bryan Spears. | FBHS Decathlon Team Wins Sinton Meet |
On November 8, 2008, the FBHS Decathlon Team won first place at the Sinton Decathlon Practice Meet. The nine member team won a total of 30 individual places. Team members are: Anthony Pabillano, Dylan Keyes, Sarah Murphy, Justin Webb, Doug Beard, Michael Brusoski, Christian Mitchell, Raine Gregus and Andrew Gurley.
Anthony Pabillano was 1st place overall individual champion in the Honors Division, Dylan Keyes was 3rd place overall in the Honors Division, Justin Webb was 3rd place overall in Scholastic Division, and Christian Mitchell was 1st place overall in Varsity Division.

Congratulations to the FBJH Cross Country Team for an outstanding season.
Brook Pierson, 7th grade, ended the season as the 7th grade girls' district champion!
Individual results were: Brittany Southerland - 10th overall, Asthen Luna - 26th, Sara Knowles - 34th, Nick Hathaway - 4th overall, Andrew Byerly - 9th overall, Aaron Clark - 29th, Case Marcum - 32nd, Jake Anderson - 33rd, Ruben Mendoza - 29th overall, and Alex Call - 40th.
Congratulations also go to the FBHS Girls' Cross Country Team who placed 3rd in District and 7th in Regionals.

Primary (K-1) Flour Bluff - tied for1st place
Alex Wallett - 1st place. Students placing and receiving trophies or medals were: Ammarie Wallett, Elizabeth Shaw, Catherine Shaw, Austin Shaw, Destiny Flores, Sierra Puente and Marcus Bradshaw.
Elementary (4-6) Flour Bluff - 3rd place
Students placing and receiving trophies or medals were: Natanee Wallett, Sarah Muir, Ryan Schultz and Jaymes de la Garza.
High School (7-12) Flour Bluff - 2nd place
Students placing and receiving trophies or medals were: Robert Muir, Beau Rodgers and Jarrett Perry.

Members of the FBHS Choir competed at the TMEA Region/Pre-Area Choir auditions at Del Mar College on November 8. Qualifying for the All Region Treble Choir were Rachel Santos and Sarah Carmony. Qualifying for the All Region Mixed Choir were Robby Black, Ereon Milan, Court Flato, David Lopez, Angel Abrego, Leah Breedlove, Carissa Reyes, Bruno Barbosa, Steven Keener, Jacob Huber, LeAnn Bishop, and Nathan Spencer.
Within each section, the top 5 seats and 2 alternates advance to the Area/All-State audition. Our 4 area candidates and 1 alternate are Leah Breedlove, Robby Black, Ereon Milan, David Lopez, and Court Flato.

Students will be out of school November 24-28 for the Thanksgiving holidays. Faculty and staff will hold inservice days on November 24-25 and break for the Thanksgiving holiday on November 26-28. Students and staff will return to school on Monday, December 1.
|
House Bill 2237 was approved at the last legislative session, requiring each school district to allocate a week called "Education: Go Get It!" The bill requires each school district and each open-enrollment charter school offering grades at the middle school, junior high, and high school level to designate one week per school year as "Education: Go Get It!" FBISD will be celebrating during the week of November 17-21 with special events throughout the week. For a complete list, go to the FBISD website. |
