Students from the Early Childhood Center, Primary and Elementary Schools sang a special song composed by elementary choir teacher, Julia Williams. Students from the Intermediate, Junior High, High School and University Prep read poems, essays and thanked them for all the campus and district improvements that have attributed to the success of all Flour Bluff Hornets.

The board also made a special presentation to Superintendent Dr. Julie Carbajal recognizing her as one of theY Women in Careers Award recipients. She was presented with a "Hornet Star Among Us" awarded by the board vice president, Jimmy Kaylor.

The board was treated to a special dinner prepared by the Food and Nutrition department and each received a package of homemade cookies.

Flour Bluff NJROTC conducted their Annual Inspection on September 25 at the Wranosky Gym. Commander Mike Hale, NJROTC Area X Manager from San Antonio, was on hand to inspect the troops. The Unit received a "Bravo Zulu" report which means - well done. The NJROTC unit met or exceeded all the basic requirements of the inspection. Out of the 152 cadets, 42 received a Circle 10 pin which means individually they had a perfect inspection. According to Commander Solis, this is the most students in one group to have received this award.
