Flour Bluff/NAS/Padre Island Relay for Life Kick-Off

The Flour Bluff/NAS/Padre Island Relay for Life Committee has announced plans for their February 8th kick-off. Last year was the first year this committee hosted a relay, and it was very successful and fun! This year's relay is scheduled for April 20 at Hornet Stadium.

The kick-off will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the high school cafetorium. Events scheduled for the evening include food, door prizes, luminary ceremony, survivor and team registration and a mock campsite. Team registration is $25 for adult teams and $10 for student teams.

Relay for Life is an overnight event sponsored by the American Cancer Society designed to celebrate cancer survivorship and raise funds for research, services and programs. All money raised stays right here in Corpus Christi to serve our own.

Mark your calendars and come out to see what Relay is all about. Last year $65,000+ was raised with 52 teams and 26 sponsors. The goal this year is to raise $90,000 and to increase to 70 teams and 35 sponsors. Log on to the relay website for more information.
