Congratulations to the FBHS Math/Science Team for winning the 4A Sweepstakes Award at the State TMSCA (Texas Math Science Coaches Association) on March 18th. Teams members are Emily Bray, Carlos Cardenas, Matthew Cavazos, Lisa Lawson, Andrew Acker, Jake Alexander, Kent Needham, Matt Carter, and Anthony Pabilano. Anthony won the Top Gun award for the highest scoring freshman at the meet.
Junior High Mathcounts Places Third in State
Congratulations to the FBJH Mathcounts team for placing third at the State Competition during Spring Break. Congratulations also to Matt Junttila, FBJH team member, who made the highest score in the state during the competition. Matt will be part of the National Team to travel to Washington, D.C. to compete this summer.
Relay for Life Kick-Off
The Flour Bluff/NAS/Padre Island Relay for Life Kick-Off, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, will be Monday, March 20 at 6:00 pm in the high school cafetorium. Interested teams and existing teams are invited to attend. Mayor Henry Garrett will be the honored guest to kick-off the event planned for April 21 at Hornet Stadium. Pizza, door prizes, and a special luminary ceremony in memory/honor of cancer patients are just a few of the planned activities for the Kick-Off.
Community Builder Award
Congratulations to Commander Armando Solis, FBHS NJROTC, on receiving the Community Builder Award by the Masonic Lodge of Texas. The award is presented to recognize notable achievement by persons who are not member of the Masonic fraternity.
Operation Graduation Golf Tournament
FBHS Operation Graduation is enlisting teams for the upcoming golf tournament scheduled for Saturday, March 25 at the OSO Golf Course. If you can put together a team of four (no handicaps required, a change from the original entry form), please call Laura Davis at 949-0795 or 549-4218.
Baseball Schedule Change
The Varsity Baseball team will play on the "BIG STAGE" tomorrow night, March 21 @ 6:30 pm as they take on Kingsville at Whataburger Field. JV will play today at Kingsville at 7 pm and Freshman will play at home today at 7 pm.
