Flint Hills Scholar Athletes of the Month
Congratulations to the FBHS Seniors Carlos Cardenas and Rachel Veteto as they have been recognized by Flint Hills Resources as Scholar Athletes of the month. Be sure to watch for the upcoming commercial on our local television stations.

Coastal Bend Science Fair Finalists
Congratulations to FB Intermediate students Jake Warren, Robert Walker, Drake Atkinson and Christina Sheehan as they advance to the Coastal Bend Science Fair at Texas A& M Corpus Christi on April 29, 2006. Winners in the Intermediate Science Fair were: Earth Science - Grace Chapman 1st place and Dallas Uvalle 2nd place; Life Science - Jake Warren 1st place, Christian Sheehan 2nd, Carissa Reyes 3rd and Emily Gall Honorable Mention; Physical Science - Drake Atkinson 1st, Robert Walker 2nd, Eric Cadondon 3rd, and Brandon McKee Honorable Mention.

Junior High Tennis Champions
The FBJH 7th and 8th grade tennis teams competed at the district tournament on April 1 and both claimed victory as District Champions. Congratulations to Coach Torres and the FBJH tennis teams for making a great showing.

2006 South Texas Honor Band
Fifteen FBHS band students have been named to the South Texas Honor Band and will perform at a concert on April 22 at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Congratulations to: Jennifer Moses, Yong Min Ho, Monica Leal, Katherine Gonzales, Anthony Suter, Kim Ortiz, Amanda Daniels, Rachel Boyd, Christa Rasor, Grace Guthrie, Steven Keener, Micah Kidd, Ryan Velasco, Mat Gillium and Vincent Karbowski.

Digital Graphics & Animation Exhibit
The Noel McArdle Gallery at the Janet F. Harte Library will host a month long exhibit of FBHS students digital graphics and animation works that will include Photography, Painting and Drawing, 2-D Animation, 3-D Images and Animation and Graphic Design. The library gallery is located at 2629 Waldron Road next door to Flour Bluff High School.

High School District UIL Results
Congratulations to the Flour Bluff High School team advancing to the Regional competition after placing second place at the district competition with a score of 284, four points behind Gregory Portland. Flour Bluff teams placing first at the competition include Calculator, Current Events, Mathematics, Number Sense, Science and Social Studies. Individual winners were: Calculator - Raphael Lim 1st, Anthony Pabillano 2nd, Emily Bray 4th and Andrew Acker 5th; Current Events - Randall Marshall 2nd and Wesley Gaddie 4th; Computer Science - Anthony Pabillano 5th and Brian Venable 6th; Headline Writing - Amber Pfeiffer 5th; Mathematics - Andrew Acker 1st, Emily Bray 2nd, Raphael Lim 3rd, and Anthony Pabillano 4th; Number Sense - Andrew Acker 1st, Anthony Pabillano, 2nd, Raphael Lim 3rd and Carlos Cardenas 4th; Persuasive Speaking - Kimberly Ortiz 6th; Poetry Interpretation - Haley Leach 5th; Prose Interpretation - Tyler Booker 1st; Ready Writing - Wesley Gaddie 1st, Nicholas Sheffield 4th; Science - Matthew Cavazos 1st, Carlos Cardenas 2nd, Emily Bray 3rd, Randall Marshall 4th, Andrew Acker 5th; Social Studies - Chelsea Brown 2nd, Kyle Huskin 3rd and Lawrence Haas 5th.
