Mrs. Brandt's kindergarten class shows school spirit by making a giant poster for their classroom. The Flour Bluff Hornets will be swarming at the Alamodome this Saturday as they continue their quest to the state tournament. The Hornets (10-2) will take on Alamo Heights (11-1) in the Regional Finals of the Region IV-4A Division 1 game at 8:00 p.m. at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday, December 2. In support of the Hornets, a special community pep rally is being held at the Hornet Varsity Gym on Friday, December 1, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. A special Hornet autograph session will take place immediately following the pep rally. GO HORNETS!

The Flour Bluff Athletic Booster Club will hold their annual BBQ fundraiser at the High School Cafetorium from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on December 9, 2006. Plates are $7 each and include brisket, sausage, potato salad and all the trimmings. This will be a take-out or dine-in meal. Tickets can be purchased on site or from any FBHS athlete. More than 8,000 bags of sweets will be distributed by Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus between December 10 and 17 again this year. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be escorted through the neighborhoods of Flour Bluff, NAS, and Padre Island by the Flour Bluff Volunteer Fire Department. This wonderful holiday tradition is a gift to our community. Look for these winter visitors during the evening hours. You will hear them before you see them! The Nutrition Department of FBISD is once again holding their annual bake sale for the holidays. Items you can order include their famous cookies (ready to serve or frozen), dinner rolls, pies and cinnamon rolls. Orders should be placed no later than December 12 in order to receive your goodies by December 20.
