Flour Bluff I.S.D.'s graduation ceremony will be Thursday, May 28, at
6:00 p.m. at the American Bank Center Arena. Anthony Pabillano is the Valedictorian and Lorraine Urbis is the Salutatorian of the graduating class of 2009. Approximately 434 students are expected to walk the stage and receive their high school diploma. Afterwards, Operation Graduation will hold a lock-in party at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club.
Flour Bluff I.S.D. had an outstanding 2008-2009 school year. Many of the accomplishments are posted to the website.
There will also be early releases on Thursday, May 28 for all campuses as follows:
ECC-Primary-Elementary 1:00 p.m.
Intermediate School 11:15 a.m.
Junior High School 11:15 a.m.
High School 11:00 a.m.

| Summer Schedules |
| Flour Bluff I.S.D. has many summer programs offered for students of all ages. Please check the website for listings and registration information.
Flour Bluff I.S.D. Administration offices will be on a summer schedule working Monday thru Thursday from June 1 - July 17. Offices will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Campus hours will be as follows: June 1 - July 17 campus offices will be open to the public Monday thru Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Early Childhood Center, Primary, Elementary, Intermediate and Junior High campuses will be closed from June 11 - July 24. The High School will remain open all summer. After July 17, the office will be open Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 4:30.
Registration information for 2009-2010 is now posted on the website. Please check the website during the summer for any changes that may occur.

| Regional Track Results |
| Hornet athletes made a great showing at the Regional track meet held in San Antonio on May 15-16.
Regional track results were as follows: Tevin Thompson - 1st in discus, 3rd in shot put; Ashley Darley 1st in long jump, 1st in 200m, 4th in 100m; Jordan Moses - 3rd in discus; and Michael Gowens - 1st in triple jump, 2nd in long jump. The boys 4x100 meter relay placed 9th in region and the boys 4x200 meter relay placed 7th in region.
Advancing to the State meet on June 5-6 is Michael Gowens, Tevin Thompson and Ashley Darley. Good luck Hornets!

| PTSA Awards Grants to NBCT Candidates |
| The Flour Bluff High School PTSA awarded six $100 mini-grants at the annual teacher luncheon held May 15 at FBHS. The grants were given as a reward incentive to six teachers currently working toward their certification status as a member of the National Board Certified Teacher program. Those awarded were Melissa Botello, Billie Lashua, Alice Hawkins, Zita Stumhofer, Charlotte Walker and Jeffrey Beynon. |

Flour Bluff Senior, Jordan Moses, signed a letter of intent to San Angelo State University for a four-year track scholarship. Friends and family gathered in the high school teaching theater on May 21, 2009 to celebrate her signing.

| Congratulations to the following seniors on being selected to the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) Academic All State Team: Chris Storbeck, Shawn Holmes, Cory Foust, Patrick Kasperitis, Devon Smith, Nick Fordyce, Robert Reese and Brandon Wilson.
Congratulations also to the following Hornet football team members as they were selected to play in the Shriner's All-Star game at Buc Stadium on May 23. Those members are: Michael Gowens, Dillon Bishop, Lamarr Key and Justin Brewer.

Congratulations to our Campus Teachers of the Year: Kathy Blake, Early Childhood Center; Cindy Garza, Primary School; Rachel Merriman, Elementary School; Deanne Purcell, Intermediate School; Karen Jackson, Junior High; and Jo-Anne Boudissa, High School. At the Employee Service Awards on May 28, two of these candidates will be named District Teacher of the Year. As District Teacher of the Year they will each receive $500 and go on to represent FBISD at the Regional level for Secondary and Elementary Teacher of the Year.

| Employee Service Awards |
| The Flour Bluff I.S.D. 2008-2009 Employee Service Awards will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in the high school cafetorium. The theme this year will be Hornet Theater Matinee Premier. Service awards will be presented to those with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service to FBISD. Awards will also be given to those with perfect attendance. Special recognitions will be given to all retirees, paraprofessionals of the year, employees of the year and campus teachers of the year. |

The Junior Achievement of the Coastal Bend Business Hall of Fame Banquet held May 21, 2009, was attended by Flour Bluff Intermediate faculty and students.
