At the Third Annual Future Nurses Club Conference held at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on January 26, 2005, several Flour Bluff High School students and staff were recognized for their leadership. The event sponsored by Flint Hills played host to approximately 300 students and sponsors from area high schools.
Sharon Parker, RN, Flour Bluff High School nurse and club sponsor was recognized for innovative ideas for club participation. Amber Bookout, Flour Bluff High School student and Health Occupation Students of American (HOSA) member was recognized for outstanding leadership. Amber carried on with club activities while Mrs. Parker was away on an emergency leave of absence for several months. Diane Pascal, HOSA teacher was recognized for being the first teacher in the area to initiate the first Future Nurses Club.
