The Flour Bluff High School Decathlon Team won first place team honors at the Regional Meet on Saturday, January 29, 2005. This qualifies the team to advance to the State Meet in San Antonio February 25-27, 2005. The team of Jennifer Kitay, Thai Martin, William Darley, Alicia Keese, Ana Malagon, Emily Bray, Elena Anderson, Carrie Kalinec and Nick Rodriguez also won the Super Quiz competition. There were thirteen teams in the medium school division that competed in the competition at Flour Bluff High School. The Flour Bluff team is ranked number six in the state in the medium school division out of the top twenty-five schools.
The team won seven of fifteen individual overall medals. In the Varsity Division, Jennifer Kitay won first place and Elena Anderson won fourth place. In the Scholastic Division, Thai Martin won third place and William Darley won fourth place. In the Honors Division, Ana Malagon won first place, Emily Bray won second place, and Alicia Keese won fourth place.
