Students from Flour Bluff High School’s Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) traveled to Laredo on January 29 to compete at the District I Career Development Conference (CDC) where they advanced to the State competition to be held February 24-27 in Dallas, Texas. The team advancing to state includes: Morgan Allen, (RMAL) Retial Merchandising Assistant Level; Ryan Brannon, (QSRM) Quick Service Restaurant Management; Joe McKinney, (RMML) Retial Merchandising Service Management Level; Kelly Magnuson, (FMML) Food Marketing Management Level; Rene York (AAA) Apparel and Accessories Marketing Service; and Ashley Carr, Voting Delegate.
The State DECA Career Development Conference is held annually to provide leadership development, competency-based competitive events (to select students who will represent Texas at the International CDC), conduct association business, and communicate with delegates from across Texas. Mr. Jim Murphy is the club sponsor.
