Red Ribbon Week October 26-30, 2009
FBISD Celebrates District-Wide

Flour Bluff I.S.D. will celebrate Red Ribbon Week district-wide October 26-30. Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign to encourage healthy lifestyles and to encourage students to lead drug free lives. Special events district-wide are listed below.

Early Childhood Center

Monday, October 26 - "Sock it to Drugs" students may wear crazy socks.
Tuesday ,October 27

- "Drugs Are Un "Bear" Able" students can bring their favorite teddy bear to school.
Wednesday, October 28

- "Wear Red Day" students and staff wear red.


Thursday, October 29

- "Hats Off to Drugs" students can wear their favorite hat or decorate a hat to wear.
Friday, October 30
- "Career & Community Day" dress up in what you want to be when you grow up.

Primary School

Monday, October 26 - "Team Up Against Drugs Day" - students may wear their favorite sports team jersey/t-shirt; pep rally in the gym,
Tuesday ,October 27 - "Combat Drugs Day" - students may wear camouflage clothing.
Wednesday, October 28 - "Red Day" - students wear red and sign a pledge card
Thursday, October 29 - "Follow Your Dreams, Don't Do Drugs" - Pajama Day - students may wear their pajamas to school with tennis shoes.
Friday, October 30 - Storybook Character Parade @ 1:30 - students may dress up as their favorite storybook character; U.S. Customs helicopter presentation @ 9 a.m.
Starting Monday, students may bring can food items to donate to Timon's Ministries. This drive will continue until Friday, November 13, 2009.

Elementary School
Monday, October 26 - "We Can say No to Drugs" - students will start collecting can food for Timon's Ministries. Red ribbons will be distributed to all students.
Tuesday ,October 27

- "Turn your back on Drugs" - students may wear thier shirts backwards.
Wednesday, October 28

"Wear Red Day" - all students and staff wear red.
Thursday, October 29

- "Fight Against Drugs" - all students may wear camouflage clothing.
Friday, October 30
- "Stay in the Game; Be Drug Free" - students may wear their favorite team jersey.

Intermediate School

Monday, October 26 - Patriotic Day - "Proud to Be Drug Free" - wear red, white and blue. Begin door decorating contest.
Tuesday, October 27 - Sock Day - "Sock It To Drugs" - wear crazy socks.
Wednesday, October 28 - Red Day - "Red to Remember - Don't Do Drugs" wear red day. The top five classes that are wearing red will get a pizza party.
Thursday, October 29 - Ribbon Day - "Wear Your Red Ribbon" - students will be given red ribbons by teachers.
Friday, October 30 - Sportswear Day - "Team Up Against Drugs" - wear your favorite team clothing. Door decorating ends. Winnng classroom gets ice cream treats.

Junior High
Monday, October 26 - "Kick off Red Ribbon Week" Country Western Day. Students and staff will dress up in their boots and western wear.
Tuesday ,October 27

- "Twin Day" Say No to Drugs Say No to Drugs. Students can dress as twins with another student.
Wednesday, October 28

- "Wear Red Day" every wears red.
Thursday, October 29

- "Camo Day" Drugs Cen't Find Us. Students can dress in camouflage wear.
Friday, October 30
- "Hero Day" Our Heros say No to Drugs. Students can dress as their favorite hero.

High School
Monday, October 26 - "Awareness Day" door decorating begins.
Tuesday ,October 27

- "Team Up Aginast Drugs" - wear your favorite team's clothing.
Wednesday, October 28
- "Wear Red Day" everyone wears red.
Thursday, October 29

- "Red ribbon Bracelet Day" bracelets worn by all.
Friday, October 30
- "Spirit Day" wear your Hornet spirit shirt.
