Non-Discrimination Statement
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
No qualified handicapped student, on the basis of handicap, may be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefit of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any school district program or activity.

Title VI - The Civil Rights Act of 1964, As Amended, Title IX (The Education Amendment of 1972)
The amendment prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or handicap in the career and applied technology education program.

Title IX - The Education Amendment of 1972
The school district will provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student complaints alleging discrimination on the basis of sex.

Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
A free, appropriate public education will be provided to each qualified disabled student within the district's jurisdiction, regardless of the nature or severity of the student's disability.

Student Notice of Non-Discrimination in Career and Technology Education
Career and Technology education courses are available to all students of the Flour Bluff I.S.D. without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, or handicap as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1873 as amended. The School District also assures that students with limited English proficiency are to have an equal opportunity to participate in all Career and technology education courses.

Career and technology education instruction includes courses in Computer Networking, Maintenance, and Programming, Home Economics, Marketing, Business, Health Science, Architecture/Engineering, Law Enforcement, Aviation Service, Transportation Mechanics, and Technology Systems.

Students in grades nine through twelve may enroll in career and technology education courses at the specified grade level if they meet individual course requirements. Special population students participating in a career and technology education course must have a career assessment prior to placement in the course.

Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)
ADA seeks to eliminate discrimination against individuals with disabilities. ADA is designed to eliminated discrimination in areas of employment, transportation, and public accommodations. The act prohibits employers from excluding people from jobs, services, activities or benefits based on their disabilities. Local District employment practices affected by the ADA include job applications procedure, hiring or discharge, compensation, advancement, training, and any other term or condition of employment.
