National Honor Society (NHS)

The Flour Bluff Chapter of the National Honor Society has seventy-four active members. These students have been elected to the National Honor Society because of their outstanding scholastic performance (4.00 GPA), their leadership, their character, and their service to the community.

The National Honor Society officers research service projects in our community and present these opportunities to the membership. Activities we have participated in before include the Children’s Tent at Bayfest, and Beach Clean-Up. Our students also tutor at the Janet F. Harte Public Library, the high school content mastery rooms, and the Intermediate school.

Participating in the National Honor Society helps our students to focus on their academic progress and to hone their leadership skills by modeling integrity and compassion to our student body. In this our students are guided by a Faculty Council that oversees the election process, and a sponsor who functions as a student advocate.
